A top US administration official said that North Korea appeared to be 'moving forward' to a long-range missile launch in a deliberate bid to spark a crisis.
While reports said the United States had activated its missile defense system, there were no concrete signs that a launch was imminent. US national security advisor Stephen Hadley said it was 'hard to tell' whether the North had finished fuelling up its Taepodong-2 for a launch that would end a moratorium on its missile tests in place since 1999.
