Bush Stuns Nation by Telling the TruthAugust 01, 2005 00:00US President George W. Bush shocked the audience at a recent US$10,000 per plate Republican Party fundraiser by telling the truth. Bush's statement seems to have been so offhand and so unexpected that several members of the audience went into cardiac arrest and a White House intelligence analyst went blind. When asked about the contents of the President's statement, one fundraiser attendee stated that it was "too horrible to describe, but it had something to do with the weather." After the verbal bomb was released, several Secret Service agents secreted the President away while a dozen interns from the White House Information Team spread throughout the audience doing damage control. The interns reassured attendees that the President was merely joking and that they could be assured that the President would reaffirm his true moral foundations at his next appearance. US Senate majority leader Bill Frist (R-TN) assured his Party members that he stands behind the President. Frist stated that the Republican Party would not allow the liberal media to blow the President's unprecedented slip out of proportion and to undermine the President's good works. Vice President Cheney had no comment on the matter when he was spotted by the White House press corps striding toward the Oval Office with a leather strap and wooden paddle.
