Investigate demotion of Bunnatine H. GreenhouseAugust 30, 2005 00:00
Letter sent to protest the demotion of Bunnatine H. Greenhouse as a response to her testimony to Congress.
Dear (DeGette, Salazar, Allard), I am writing to request that you urge your peers on both sides of the aisle to open an investigation into the recent demotion of US Army procurement officer Bunnatine H. Greenhouse. Ms. Greenhouse was demoted after appearing before Congress to testify that Halliburton Corp. had the suspicious privilege of being granted billions of dollars of taxpayer funds in no-bid procurement processes. After four years and billions of dollars of sole-sourced contracts, I'm surprised that more Senators and Congress people have not demanded transparency in the procurement process that has guaranteed Halliburton repeated windfalls for work in Iraq and Afghanistan. As our representative, you should demand that the claims of Ms. Greenhouse be investigated and that she be held accountable if the veracity of her claims proves false. On the other hand, if her claims are legitimate, she should be protected as a whistle blower who was doing the American people a great service. Thank you for your time. Sincerely,

Dear Senator/Representative, This is it! The most important vote to protect the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge will be upon you in September! As your constituent, I urge you to vote against the budget reconciliation package if it allows oil drilling in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge. Demand a clean budget bill that doesn't include a sneak attack on our nation's most pristine wilderness! Drilling in the Arctic Refuge is not a path to energy independence or lower prices at the pump. Meanwhile, the harm to wildlife and to our greatest wildlife refuge would be irreparable. We need to save national treasures like the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge for future generations. Sincerely, Support our site... Buy a bumper sticker! - Monday, June 15, 2009
