WMD - Letter to the EditorFebruary 04, 2004 00:00
A letter to the newspaper suggesting that Bush should be impeached if he has lied.
Dear Editor, After nearly a year of fruitless searching for Iraqi WMD's and David Kay's recent statements, it is hard to imagine that Americans are not enraged by Mr. Rumsfeld's and Mr. Powell's recent claims that the Iraqi war was justified. George W. Bush lied to the American people in last year's State of the Union address and misled other governments which led to an invasion of a sovereign state under false pretenses. The President wants to personally select a commission to investigate the intelligence failures that led to the war. This is an outrage. We need an independent commission that will investigate the executive failings that caused loss of life, overspending, and irreparable damage to our international reputation. If the President or his administration is shown to have lied and led us into a costly and unnecessary war, then there can be only one conclusion. Impeach President Bush.
